Since the first announcement of HiMSEN H21/32 in 2001, Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) has been continuously developing not only diesel engines such as H25/33, H17/28, H32/40, H46/60and H21C but also gas and dual fuel engines such as H35G, H35DF, H27DF and H22CDF as part of HiMSEN family. Due to the stringent emission regulations and market demand of economical & ecological engine, the various requirements for low emission and high efficiency engine have been increasing. HHI, recently, has been developing high power and high efficiency engines H54DFV, H32CV adopted 2-stageturbocharging system to lead such market trends. Both of new developed proto type engines -12H54DFV, 12H32CV - applied TSTC (Two Stage Turbo Charger) system, and SSTC (Single Stage Turbo Charger) system for H54DFV & H32CV design is also completed simultaneously. HiMSEN H54DFV has been designed with 540mm bore/ 600mm stroke and 600rpm, covers the output range from 17.6MW to 26.4MW. The reliable and robust design of engine structure helps to optimize the engine performance and efficiency. In addition, HHI has been developing the most efficiency HiMSEN diesel engine H32CV which has320mm bore/ 450mm stroke and 720/750rpm. For achieving high efficiency, H32CV adopted very early Miller cycle, variable injection timing and intake/exhaust dual valve timing. This paper introduces new development status of HiMSEN engine - H54DFV & H32CV and various researches conducted for optimal design and better performance.
