Lubrication and Friction Mechanism Research of Laser Surface Texturing Technology on Cylinder liner of Diesel Engine

论文已在中国上海举行的2013年CIMAC大会上发表。论文的版权归CIMAC所有。 Laser surface texturing(LST) technology is a new-style cylinder liner surface processing technology for engines, that perfectly combined laser micro-processing technology and traditional cylinder liner mechanical honing technology, and could optimize the tribological performance on the work surface of Friction units. A new LST processing equipment was developed. It applied unique water-cooled laser resonator cavity and frequency doubling technology which can reduce the heat loss of cavity and increase laser output power. A new rotating laser head was designed which ensure auxiliary gas reliable sealing and the light path flow unblocked. By the designing of software and hardware of quick response control system,achieved high precision joint coordination control between single laser pulse and rotary motion of mechanical system. Maximally reduce the thermal effects side effects by laser microprocessing and improve quality and efficiency of micro-machining. It found that laser honing process could not only obtain the micro surface texturing which enhance lubrication status, but also strengthen the surface hardness. The results of speedy lubrication and wear test indicated that the friction coefficient of the surface texturing sample can reduced by 30% -50% compared with the non-texturing sample, and the wear of the sample surface has also been effectively improved. A mixed lubrication theoretical model was established on cylinder liner-piston ring (CLPR) of diesel. The model was calculated to reveal the influence of LST on tribology performance with barrel-shaped ring. The results show that after the LST, the lubrication and friction performance of the cylinder was improved, the effect of dimple is superior to the groove texturing, the minimum oil ratio in the middle regions of the strokes increased by 29%,while the friction peak decreased about 30%. At last,the engine bench test found that after the surface texture cylinder liner, the engine cylinder fuel consumption engine, the effect is improved most significant at a low speed, the maximum rate of fuel consumption reduced 9.8g/k W • h, a decline of 4.62%, which confirmed the surface texture technology is effective for reducing engine friction loss. Meanwhile, the other engine performance indicators also have improved to some extent,air leakage and oil consumption and other parameters have declined, the largest leakage was decresed by 34.6%, and the oil consumption was reduced by 33.8%.
